Beyond Word Social Skills

| Contracted with licensed Physical Therapists, Beyond Words is designed for High School and Middle School students. The course includes social skills training therapy, as well as individual and group therapy. After School Music and Theater |
|
Through involvement
in the arts, students participate
in a means of creative expression.
Students develop musical skills
and talents, increase spatial/body
awareness, expand linguistic and
memory abilities, develop self-confidence,
and identify areas such as interpersonal
and intrapersonal abilities. Each
student receives private vocal coaching,
acting and performance techniques,
introduction to set and costume
design, and experience performing
in a musical production. |

P.O.P.
Enhance Self Esteem and Confidence
|
Offered by licensed Occupational
Therapists through Children's Services,
P.O.P. is available to Middle and
High School students. The sessions
focus on interactive experiences
designed to enhance self-esteen
and confidence. For additional information,

Diagnostic
evaluations and treatment
in articulation, phonology,
oral motor, oral and written
language and mild voice fluency

After School Success |
|
The Cottage
School After-School Success Program
provides a structured environment
in which to complement the goals
of the regular school day. Consistent
introduction of basic learning strategies,
organization, and study skills while
focusing on homework and academic
support reinforces learning as an
extension of the school day. Self-direction,
problem solving, development of
interpersonal skills, effective
communication, prioritization, and
application of effective strategies
provide the basis for success.

Handwriting Program
|
This handwriting course
is dedicated to enhancing
bright children’s written
communication skills. Led
by a registered and licensed
occupational therapist from
Children’s Special Services,
LLC------Goals of the program
will be to:
- Get homework done
more easily
- Become more fluid
with written tasks
- Develop more task
time efficiency
- Decrease resistance
to written assignments.
- Increase legibility
- Increase written
communication skills

Work on fine motor skills
such as:
- Develop in-hand manipulation
and fine motor skills necessary
for handwriting
- Enhance functional pencil
grip
- Improve letter formation
and directionality in writing
- Develop spacing and line
awareness in writing
- Develop postural control
and stability necessary
for handwriting
