High School Programs -

High School Summer School

  • Session 1: June 5 – 23, 2017
  • Session 2: June 26 - July 14, 2017 (July 4, 2017 is a school holiday)
  • Hours: 8:00AM - 12:30PM Daily
  • Tuition: $1,000 per session
  • Application fee: $75 (new students only)
  • Credits: 1 session: - .5 Carnegie Unit;                   2 sessions: - 1 Carnegie Unit
  • The High School Summer School program offers subjects in the academic core curriculum. Small classes and certified, experienced teachers provide an opportunity for students to earn high school credits. Open to high school students only.
  • Registration deadline is May 13, 2017

High School Summer School subjects include:

  • Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra III
  • Geometry
  • Environmental Science
  • Social Studies, including Political Science and Economics
  • English
  • World Languages
  • Health
  • Career Skills
 

 Keyboarding for Middle and High School

  • Sessions: June 5 – 9, 2017; June 12 – 16, 2017; June 19 – 23, 2017
  • Hours: 12:30PM – 3:00PM Daily
  • Tuition: $150 per week
  • Application Fee: $75 (new students only)
  • These sessions provide an opportunity for students to learn and practice keyboarding,proper hand positions, speed, and accuracy skills while having fun. This is a non-credit class available to grades 6th through 12th.
  • Registration deadline is May 13, 2017.
  • There must be a minimum of four students to offer each session.

 

Leadership Camp (with option of Peer Leadership Course Credit)

  • Session: June 19 - July 7, 2017 (July 4, 2017 is a school holiday)
  • Hours: 8:00AM - 12:30PM Daily
  • Tuition: Leadership Camp $500 for session, $450 early bird
                    Peer Leadership I, .05 Credit $900 for session, $850 early bird
                    Early bird deadline for both options is April 30, 2017
  • Application Fee: $75 (new students only)
  • Leadership camp will focus on teaching how to lead and influence people. We will study how to build your own credibility so that people are willing to follow you.  Through games, simulations, guest speakers, and field trips, and a service project, we will practice leadership skills of self-management, goal setting, active listening, reflection, and conflict resolution. This is a non-credit class.
  • To earn 0.5 elective credit for Peer Leadership I (Course Number 45.05900), students will complete all Camp activities, plus various assignments including an additional self-reflective journal project and resume.
  • This camp is available to rising 9th, 10th and 11th and 12th grade students.
  • Registration deadline is May 19, 2017.
  • There must be a minimum of five students total (maximum of 10) to offer this session.

Middle School Programs -

Middle School Summer School

  • Sessions: June 5 – 9, 2017; June 12 – 16, 2017; June 19 – 23, 2017
  • Hours: 8:00AM-12:30PM daily
  • Tuition: $300 per week
  • Application Fee: $75 (new students only)
  • Summer School for Middle School students offers a three-week opportunity to sharpen academic skills before school starts.Small classes and certified, experienced teachers provide an opportunity for students to reinforce and enhance Math and Language Arts skills.
  • Registration deadline is May 12, 2017
  •   Middle School classes must have a minimum of four students to be scheduled. Sign up early!

 

Rising 9th and Middle School Enrichment

  • Session: July 24 - 28, 2017
  • Hours: 8:00AM-12:00PM daily
  • Tuition: $300
  • Application Fee: $75 (new students only)
  • One-week enrichment session focusing on Math and Language Arts skills prior to the first day of school. This one week review will prepare them for the upcoming year. The Cottage School teachers deliver this unique program which is designed to transition the student back to school in the Fall. (see Enrichment Camp Flyer for additional details)
  •  Registration deadline is June 9, 2017.
  • Middle School classes must have a minimum of six students to be scheduled. Sign up early!

 

Tutoring and Reading Workshop

  • Session: July 24 - 28, 2017
  • Hours: 8:30AM-10:30PM Rising 4th-8th; 11:00AM-1:00PM Rising 9th-12th
  • Tuition: $120
  • Application Fee: $75 (new students only)
  • Tutoring by the Reading Specialist will support the development of fundamental reading comprehension and critical thinking strategies. Students will practice before, during and after-reading techniques in order to sharpen the skills needed to read confidently and analytically. Techniques emphasized include metacognition, self-monitoring comprehension, and graphic and semantic organizers. As a springboard to the 2017-2018 academic school year, the Summer Tutoring and Reading Workshop offers the tools for students to become sharper and more organized reader of grade-level texts in preparation for the Fall.

Elementary School Programs -

Elementary Summer Camp

  • Session: July 10 - 14, 2017
  • Hours: 8:30AM-12:30PM daily
  • Tuition: $300
  • This camp is for currently enrolled students only.
  • Come join Leslie for a week of fun while brushing up on the skills needed to be successful for the upcoming school year. Small group instruction will focus on math and language arts skills as students transition from third, fourth and fifth grades. There will be a daily art project and organized game each day as well!
  • Registration deadline is May 19, 2017
  • There must be a minimum of four students (maximum of 8) to be scheduled. Sign up early!

Athletic Camps -

Girls' Basketball Camp

  • Session: June 12 – 16, 2017
  • Hours: 9:00AM - 3:00PM
  • Tuition: $300 - Includes a camp t-shirt, $250 early bird registration by May 20, 2017
  • Ages: Girls, grades 6th - 12th
  • This camp teaches the fundamentals of basketball, with emphasis on rebounding, ball handling, shooting, footwork and team defense. TCS Lady Cougar coaches Lyle Cutchin and Stephanie Soares will serve as directors. Campers will participate in a variety of team and individual competitions. Athletes need to bring water and a sack lunch each day. Maximum of 28 ladies.

Boys' Basketball Camp

  • Session: July 10 – 14, 2017
  • Hours: 9:00AM - 3:00PM
  • Tuition: $300 - Includes a camp t-shirt, $250 early bird registration by June 9, 2017
  • Ages: Boys, ages 12 - 16
  • A five day boy's camp teaching the fundamentals of basketball; shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, rebounding, team defense and offense, and much more! Also includes a 3-on-3 tournament, 5-on-5 tournament, a Hot Shot shootout, a 3 point contest and a free throw contest. Athletes need to bring water and a sack lunch each day. Maximum of 28 athletes.

Coed Runners' Camp

  • Session: July 10 – 14, 2017
  • Hours: 8:00AM - 12:00PM
  • Tuition: $175 - Includes a camp t-shirt
  • Ages: Girls and boys, ages 12 - 18
  • The Cottage School Distance Running Camp is a five day running program teaching the principles of distance running. Athletes will learn from current staff, alumni and professional presenters from Emory University and Phidippides. Topics will include nutrition, strength training, gait analysis, flexibility exercises, proper footwear, injury prevention, goal setting and psychological visualization. Runners will train and learn on various courses (Kennesaw Mountain trails, Vickery Creek, Stone Mountain and the Chattahoochee Trail System) and in settings such as our fitness center, Phidippides and a local track. Athletes should bring a healthy snack and a water bottle each day.

Coed Soccer Camp

  • Session: July 17 – 21, 2017
  • Hours: 9:00AM - 12:00PM
  • Tuition: $100
  • Ages: Girls and boys, ages 12 - 18
  • This camp will work on some one-on-one techniques as well as ball control. Students will compete in a daily 3-on-3 Futbol Tournament. This camp will help prepare the athletes for the fall season. Athletes should come prepared with appropriate clothing, shinguards and footwear for indoor soccer.
