Lady Cougar Volleyball at AAC Playoffs

The 2016 volleyball season came to an end on Friday evening but not without outstanding efforts from our Lady Cougars...this match might have taken a few year off both coaches lives. They were a little bit stressful! The Cougars met up with the ASD Panthers for their third time this season. We had both won a match earlier in the season, so we were very ready to play. Game scores were 13-25, 26-24, 18-25, 25-20, 14-16. The Cougars fought hard but sadly the fifth game score did not work in our favor.

Communication and teamwork were key, especially in our winning games. It was evident how far the team has come this season. Excellent serving from Ellie Rappoport, Esther Buckingham, Kristina Farthing, Emma Young, Cat Anderton, Alecta Feely and Elyssa Goldman made the difference- especially in games 2, 4 and 5. Emma and Kristina played excellent defense and their effective ball placement on the opposite court made a huge difference for the team.. They were so very close in game 5 and it was a tough loss. Coaches were very proud that they handled the loss with grace and had their heads held high.
Thank you all for your support this season. The team has worked hard and come a very long way. Thankful to have had the chance to work with the girls this season. A big congratulations to our seniors, Melani McMillon, Ellie Rappoport, Katie Richardson and Emma Young.
