Schedule

Practice: HS Tuesday-Friday; 3:15-5:15 (pick up by 5:30 p.m. or $1 per minute ASP charge)

Eighth graders who compete on Varsity also practice on Fridays

Varsity Cougars

No Events

AAC (Atlanta Athletic Conference) is for Varsity only, 8th graders (those who qualify) through 12th graders

AAC-MS is for 5th graders through 8th graders only. Those 8th graders running Varsity cannot compete in this division.

MAAC (Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference) is for 5th through 8th graders only. 8th graders competing in varsity AAC can also compete in this conference.

Parents/guardians who attend meets can take their child home after competition. However, student must notify their coach in advance, as well as notify coach when they leave the meet. Not adhering to this procedure will result in a Pink Slip.

Resplendent in their brand new uniforms, the majority of the boys and girls varsity track and field teams competed in the Lions Invitational Relays this Saturday in Peachtree City at Riley field.  Athletes performed at their best for this early in the season, learned a good amount concerning sport, and demonstrated camaraderie and esprit de corps while having an immeasurable amount of fun.  Sixteen schools attended the event, and our Cougars placed in the following events:  Dinara Rothman placed 18th in the 100m with a 15.37, 7th in the...

2013 TCS Track and Field Team Are Unstoppable!

The Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) hosted its annual three day Track and Field Championship at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany from Thursday through Saturday.  Sixty high schools (120 Teams) with nearly 1,000 student-athletes competed.  Despite inclement weather, The Cottage School Cougars boys’ team placed third overall in the “A” division to conclude the season with a win/loss record of 62 and 2 in both conference and GISA A competition.  Thomas Jefferson won gold while Robert Toombs Christian Academy placed...

The Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference (MAAC) is a private middle school league with many teams (Davis Academy, Heiskell School, Faith Lutheran, AIS, McGinnis Woods, Howard School, Galloway School, Epstein School, Arbor Montessori School, Atlanta Girls School, and TCS). Last week TCS Cougars literally left their competitors in the dust at the APAC Track Meet. APAC schools competing are the Cumberland Academy, Howard School, Sophia Academy, Swift School, and TCS. Varsity Track and Field is Out of the Blocks and Off to State!

The Cottage School boys varsity track and field team won the 2013 Atlanta Athletic Conference Championship with a score of 177 points over the nearest rival who scored 144 points.  KJ Powell led all male scorers by winning the high jump, the 110m high hurdles, earning bronze in the 400m dash, and assisting the A teams in both the 4X100m relay (Powell, Thompson, Schmidt, and Farrar) and 4X400m relay (Powell, Schmidt, Thompson and Riley)  teams.  For the girls, freshman Pamela Lalo won every event she entered, established new school records...

As the HS track team continues to break school records, so does the MS track team. On March 27, the MS Cougars had an APAC meet at Independence HS where they competed versus Swift, Sophia, and Cumberland. Carly Mulligan shoved a put 22’9” which broke the MS school record of 19’6” by Molly Suskey back in 2003! Citi us, altius, fortius. Indeed. The calloused Cougars felt little of the chill yesterday in defeating all-comers in the Mill Springs meeting of athletes.  While others complained of coldness, our stalwart Spartans were imperturbable. 3/22/2013: Varsity Track Competes in Trinity Christian Academy Invitational

The continually improving Varsity Cougars track and field team competed in Peachtree City Friday at Riley Field in the Trinity Christian Academy Invitational and placed second among all AAC teams (to MSA) and fourth out of the twelve teams that competed from around North Georgia.  The result was less than the Cougar teams expected, but the training opportunity was a brilliant  one for growth. 3/20/2013: MSA Hosts Middle School Track Meet

Yesterday the MS track team had a running event only meet at Mill Springs. There were about 14 schools from all over the place. There had to have been about 250-300 kids running around. With the wind against them and waiting in line to run each event, our MS Cougars made it fun and had a good day. It began with the Girls and Boys 3000M. Claire Wylie ran strong for her team but had a shoelace come undone that slowed her pace after just the second lap.
