JV Cougars Soar Over North Atlanta Flight Academy

            Last Saturday the JV Boys won their fourth game in a row by defeating the North Atlanta Flight Academy by a score of 47-30. The 47 points was a season high for the JV Boys. The Cougars went after NAFA from the get go and started the game by playing a smothering half court man to man defense. The Cougars took a 14 – 3 first quarter lead with the help of Dillon Hall’s amazing three (3) point shots. JV Boys Hit Bulls Eye against Center Academy

Tuesday night the JV Boys won their second straight game by defeating Center Academy 37-17. The Cougars started off slow in the first half by clinging to a 10-8 lead, however in the 2nd half the JV Boys once again put it into overdrive and drove into a 20 point victory. JV Boys Win a Thriller at Howard

Last Friday night the JV Cougars won a nail biter at Howard. The Cougars trailed at halftime by 8 points however with grit and determination they slowly fought back and put themselves in a situation to win with 14 seconds left in the game. After a missed free throw by Howard the cougars brought up the ball and set up a play with 14 seconds left putting the ball in the hands of the team’s leading scorer Dillon Hall with 5 seconds to play. JV Cougars won their 2nd straight game by defeating Cumberland Academy 31-21. The Cougars started off strong and never looked back. MG Glinsky had a break out game leading all scorers with 12 points and 7 rebounds while DJ Watts pitched in with 8 points off of 4 steals. The JV Boys Cougars grabbed a gritty win against a tough Solid Rock basketball team. The Cougars came away with a solid performance and won the game 35-23. At the end of the first quarter the Cougars held a narrow lead of 9-6; however, after full court 2nd period press, they were able to pull within one point leaving the JV Cougars with a slim half time lead of 15-14. JV Cougars Beat Brandon Hall

The JV boys’ basketball team won their 3rd straight game yesterday with a powerful playoff victory over Brandon Hall with a final score of 43-20.  The Cougars now find themselves in the Championship game this Friday night against Howard; game time is 5:30 pm. On Monday the JV Boys continued their winning ways against Cumberland Academy with a 31-22 victory. The Cougars fell behind early and trailed at halftime 7-11; however the 3rd quarter started off with a bang and the Cougars were able to create a double digit lead heading into the 4rth quarter.
