Oct. 9 vs. Howard
Hello Cougar Fans
You Cougar Volleyball team hosted Howard yesterday, 10/9, at East Roswell Park. We played much better than last week against the same team.
The first game showed great teamwork with special mentions going out to Abreil Torres and Anna Fraasa who worked together to get a point for TCS. Abby Karwacki also played very good on the front row to help the team for a final score of Howard 25, TCS 12.
In game two we experienced a bit of a loss of heart with a final score of Howard 25, TCS 8.
However, your Lady Cougars rallied in the final game with notable mentions to Kayla Foley and Shannon Benjamin for good work on the front row and Amanda Tilley for helping out with many bumps from the back row. The final score was Howard 25, TCS 15.
This was our last home game. Our next game is Friday, October 19. We play at 4pm in the playoffs at Mill Springs Academy. Many thanks to our parents, who not only come out and support the team, but who also help out by serving as line judges. A special thank you goes out to the Vollmers for hosting a pizza party after the game.
Come and support your Lady Cougars next Friday!
Your Coaches,
Erin and Hetal
Oct. 3 vs. Howard
Hello Lady Cougar Fans
On Wednesday of last week, your Lady Cougars faced off against Howard on their turf. It was a tough run, but your Cougars played their best.
In game 1, the teamwork was incredible for Abreil Torres, Amanda Tilley, Kayla Foley, Lindsey Kandel, Heaven Carson and Cally Vollmer. However, the battle resulted in a score of Howard 25, TCS 11.
Game 2 proved quite a bit tougher with the Lady Cougars losing a little heart in this game. The final score was Howard 25, TCS 2.
After a rousing talk from Hetal, the Lady Cougars rallied back. Shannon Benjamin played a solid front row. Liss Pierce, Abby Karwacki, and Anna Fraasa provided great support, while Melissa Livingston served the ball over the net for several points. The final score of Howard 25, TCS 11 reflected the Ladies increased communication during the game.
We once again go head to head against Howard on our courts Tuesday, October 9th at 3:30pm. Come out and support your Lady Cougars in our last home game!!!

September 25 vs. Brenau
Hello Lady Cougar Fans
Yesterday, your volleyball team hosted the Golden Lions from Brenau at East Roswell. Your Cougars had a challenging game ahead of them.
In the first game, the battle began from the first serve. Your Cougars hung in there through the beginning of the game with Anna Fraasa covering the net with a great volley. Teamwork between Abreil Torres and Kayla Foley sent a bump that hit the rafters and came thundering back down over the net. Liss Pierce and Abby Karwacki provided good support during this game.
Game 2 the Cougars rallied a little more to keep the score a little closer with Brenau 25, TCS 16. Shannon Benjamin played the front row with many shots going over the net. Amanda Tilley kept the ball alive many times with various bumps and saves.
By the third game, your Cougars were not done playing. With an amazing string of bumps from Kayla the Cougars were able to stay in play. Once again Shannon and Abreil rocking the front row. Throughout the game, fellow team members Melissa Livingston, Cally Vollmer and Lindsey Kandel helped out. This game ended with Brenau 25, TCS 13.
Thank you to injured team member Sarah King for showing up and supporting her team from the bench even though she cannot play. Another big thanks to all the parents, faculty and fans who came out to support your Cougars.
Come out and support us as we travel to Marietta for our next game against Covenant Christian Ministries on Friday, September 28th at 4:30pm.

September 18 vs. Fideles Christian
Hello Lady Cougar Fans!
Last Tuesday, September 18th, once again, your Lady Cougars met Fideles, but this time, we were on their turf. Our ladies gave them a run for their money, playing the full five games.
Your Lady Cougars rallied in the first game to come out with a TCS 25, Fideles 14 victory. Notable plays were made by Liss Pierce, who knocked a ball over the net from the front row, and fellow teammates, Anna Fraasa, Abby Karwacki and Melissa Livingston, all of whom kept the ball in play throughout the game.
The next two games proved a little more difficult with Fideles winning Fideles 25 and TCS 23 in game 2 and Fideles 25 to TCS 10 in game 3. Notable plays were Anna Fraasa making a saving bump from the back and good coverage from Shannon Benjamin, Lindsey Kandel and Sarah King.
In the fourth game, your Cougars came out to play winning TCS 26 to Fideles 24. In this game the ladies would not give up, taking the play to 26 rather than 25 in order to capture the game.
The fifth game, only played to 15 points proved very exciting. Your Lady Cougars, Cally Vollmer, Abreil Torres, Amanda Tilley, Abby Karwacki, Lindsey Kandel and Anna Fraasa, rallied to the very end, but the final score of Fideles 15, TCS 10 gave Fideles the win over the match.
Overall, your volleyball team proved the power of teamwork in this game.
Thanks to our fans, faculty and parents who came out to support us. Come see us again on Tuesday, September 25th as your Lady Cougars host Brenau at 4pm at East Roswell.

Sept. 11 vs. Fideles Christian
Today your Lady Cougars fought long and hard in a 3/2 match against Fideles. In Games 1 and 2, your Lady Cougars warmed up against Fideles with Amanda Tilley leading the served scores with 4 points and Freshman Heaven Carson making a great bump and save over the net. The final score in first and second games was 25 Fideles, TCS 13. In game 3, the pressure was on and your Cougars persevered with an opening four points earned by server Cally Vollmer. Co-captain Abby Karwacki quickly followed her with 5 points, while our game clenching server, Amanda Tilley, brought it home with 7 points earned! The team could not have won on serves alone. Freshman Lindsey Kandel brought save after save to the court as she bumped the ball from the back row numerous times. Captain Abreil Torres played the net with volley after volley and sets to other team members, while Sarah King, Kayla Foley, Melissa Livingston, and Shannon Benjamin kept the ball in play and over the net. The final score was TCS 25, Fideles 14.
Game 4 proved equally riveting as your Cougars opened with Cally Vollmer serving up 2 points and following a short while later with 6 more points for a game total of 8 points served. Captain Abreil Torres and Amanda Tilley tied with four points each and Anna Fraasa brought in 3 points. Once again, with tough plays made by Lindsey Kandel, Shannon Benjamin and your servers, the Cougars brought the team to victory number two with TCS 25, Fideles 17.
In the tie breaking game, we only played to 15 points. Fideles opened with 3 points in their first serve. On the first Cougar serve, we were unable to keep the ball over the net, which gave the serve back to Fideles. In the intervening minutes your Cougars played hard, but as it happened, the final score was Fideles 15, TCS 6.
It was a long and well-played match, and I hope that all of you will come out and see our next game on Thursday as we battle once again with Mill Springs at East Roswell.
Thank you to all the fans, faculty and parents who came out to support us!!!
Your Cougar Coaches,
Erin and Hetal

The gamed ended with excellent teamwork, but a score of HLA 25 and TCS 11.

8/29 @ Mill Springs Academy
On Wednesday your Lady Cougars Volleyball team traveled to the home of last year?s champions, Mill Springs Academy for the 1st game of the season. Though the Lady Cougars were defeated, they played 3 excellent games and were engaged until the very end.
In the first match up, they started out strong as Junior, Cally Volmer, served up 6 points in a row giving the Cougars 10-9 lead. The Cougars played strong with some good saves by Amanda Tilley, Lindsey Kandel, Heaven Carson, and Co-Captain Abby Karwacki. Unfortunately, the MSA came back strong, but the ladies continued to challenge them, losing by a very close 17-25. In the 2nd game, we lost a little spirit, losing 14-25, but we came back strong, with Captain Abreil Torres scoring 5 consecutive points with her power serves that left MSA dazed and confused, running around the court trying to unsuccessfully return the ball. Cougars fell in the last game 13-25, but played their hearts out.
Each player contributed good teamwork. Anna Fraasa, Sarah King, and Melissa Livingston did a good job of bumping and setting the ball, while Shannon Benjamin, Kayla Foley and Liss Pierce provided support for the team.
We are looking forward to a very exciting season! We hope that everyone can come out and support us at East Rowell today (Friday) at 4pm as we challenge Hidden Lake Academy.
