Scholarships

Contributions to The Cottage School scholarship funds provide qualified students with tuition assistance. At this time, TCS maintains four scholarship funds:

The Stephen Bayley Scholarship Fund for Tuition Assistance was established in 1990 in memory of TCS student, Stephen Bayley after his death in 1989. An easy-going young man with a great sense of humor, Stephen pursued his dream of working with cars after leaving TCS. In order to assure that talented and wonderful students like Stephen could benefit from the opportunities provided by The Cottage School, his family established the first scholarship fund for financial aid. Since its inception, the Stephen Bayley Scholarship Fund has provided over $500,000 in need-based tuition assistance, serving approximately 225 families over the past 16 years.

The Katie Perry Fund was established in memory of TCS student, Katie Perry, after her death in December, 1999. Katie was an energetic, humorous, and involved student who had made such a positive contribution to the school during her Senior year that the students wanted to create a lasting memorial in her honor. Katie was a one woman cheerleading squad for student involvement in campus activities. Because of her investment in campus life, the students elected to annually nominate students from the graduating class who have demonstrated the same positive achievement and investment in the TCS program. Based on the student selection, one graduating Senior is awarded a scholarship which is presented by the Student Council President during Graduation Ceremonies each year. Since its inception, $8,000 has been awarded through this fund to assist graduates to their transition to post-secondary pursuits

The Chris Haight Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to honor students who succeed in spite of obstacles, persevere despite challenges, and turn frustration into success. In honor of Chris’ success, his family intends to assist others who are determined to reach for and achieve their goals.

Need-based tuition assistance for Hispanic/Latino students with learning disabilities, ADHD, or socio-emotional issues is available through The Cottage School, with the establishment of The Goizueta Foundation Scholars Fund. Funded through a $500,000 endowment awarded by The Goizueta Foundation in November, 2006, the Fund will enable The Cottage School to broaden its services to Latino families whose children would benefit from TCS’s unique programs, but who are currently unable to attend due to financial circumstances.
